I've been self employed for most of my life but not always at the same thing. I guess I use work to pursue things I am interested in. I've had two restaurants, a gallery, a catering company, and events planning firm (yes, being paid a lot of money to throw big parties is fun). I am on the advisory board for Southern Exposure- an artists co-op in San Francisco, check it out at soex.org, and have co-founded 100People: A World Portrait, which may be the hardest and best thing I'll ever do- take a look at 100people.org.
